Beauty &
Wellness Sector Skill Council organised a job fair for the beauty and wellness
professionals at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), in Guwahati on
February 11-12.
More than 15
esteemed employers from the beauty and wellness industry
participated in the job fair. The list of employers include renowned
organisations Lakme, VLCC, Jiva Spa – Taj, O2 Spa, Talwalkars, Pin-Ups, Kaya
Skin Clinic etc.
International
cruise liner Steiner, through its recruitment agency Air Borne & Indus,
participated in the job fair giving international employment opportunity to the
youth of the region.
The students
had an option to choose from the numerous vacancies available with the top
employers of India and work with the employers of their choice.
CEO at
Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council, Annu Wadhwa, said “It is our
earnest endeavour to ensure skilling to our young and deserving talent of the
country and this job fair is just the perfect culmination to all our efforts. I
am so happy to see the industry rally together to provide ample employment
opportunities to the youth. The Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council aims
to make this first of its kind job fair the right platform to match talent to
demand. With the success of this event, we hope to increase the frequency of
these fairs to help in placements of our pass-outs.”
The Indian
beauty and wellness industry is growing at a CAGR of 18.6 per cent. The
employment in this sector is growing at a CAGR of 20 per cent with 23 per cent
in the organised and 15 per cent in the unorganised market. “The job fair works
towards bridging the huge demand and supply gap in the beauty and wellness
domain,” an official statement said.
“Northeast
has been the resource hub of the beauty
and wellness industry. There is a huge demand of professional from this region.
This recruitment drive has been a remarkable platform to make the right candidates
reach the right employers,” the statement further added.
