Infrastructural Requirements of Make-Up Room

A make-up room is an arena of creativity and experiment and none of it is possible without a perfect infrastructure. A good infrastructural facility not only allows the artists to create excellent make-up looks but also leaves a good impact on the customer. Following are the requirements that add up to making an ideal make-up room:

White coloured walls: A make-up room should have light coloured walls, preferably white. It is because white walls produce the most illuminated space, with light bouncing around the room surface. This not only creates a perfectly lit room but also creates a really positive and productive ambience.

Simplicity: Simplicity must be kept in mind while designing a make-up room/studio. Make sure to avoid dark coloured walls and too many accessories to decorate the room with. The make-up rooms in VLCC institutes are really simple with minimal décor; this not only enhances the overall look of the room but makes it look really professional too.

Lighting: Lighting is a factor that can make or break the look of your make-up studio and you surely do not want to get it wrong. Your make-up room/studio should have a mixture of both white & yellow lights, using only yellow lights would not only make the room hot but also might make you put on too much make-up. The same rule is followed in all VLCC institutes too, as there is a combination of both white and yellow lights.

Air conditioning: It is essential for every make-up studio to be installed with proper air conditioning. Air conditioning is important for carrying out a flawless make-up look, especially, in the case of air brush make-up

Clean make-up trolley: Compromising on hygiene can cost you big time; it might hinder your reputation, thereby, leading to a downfall in business. The make-up trolley must be properly cleaned and sanitised, at least once a week and should be without any expired or broken products. The brushes and sponges must be cleaned after every make-up to ensure proper hygiene.

Posters: Decorating your make-up space with creative posters is an important infrastructural requirement to glam it up, and make it look attractive. You can also use the concept followed in VLCC institutes of using sandwich boards and place your posters in them, to protect them from damage and make them look chic at the same time.

Wall for photography: There must be a separate, creative wall for photography. You do not want to mess your instagram page with bad photographs, make sure to design a wall that’ll make a beautiful background for photography. You can also take idea from branding on wall in VLCC institutes, dedicated for clicking pictures and promoting the brand simultaneously.

So, there you have it, a perfect guide to all required infrastructural requirements, so go ahead and create a beautiful make-up space for yourself.

VLCC Institute - Face Shape

While doing makeup it’s very necessary to know your face shape .This will help us to choose hairstyle and create makeup look.

So let’s learn about different face shapes,

OVAL FACE SHAPE -  This face shape is considered as perfect face shape ,this kind of  face have the proper symmetry, all kind of face aim to be oval shape, people having oval shape does not need contour or any correction.

SQUARE FACE SHAPE- This face shape almost have a manly appeal to it, mostly this face shape will have a strong jaw line and a broader forehead, so while doing this face we need to be very careful to contour the jaw line and the temples of the face with a darker shade than foundation, even while applying blush we need to apply that in a triangle shape and blending towards forehead.

3. ROUND FACE SHAPE- This face shape is very common to identify, length is approx equal to width for this face, and they will have a roundish look in their face with rounded chin.

So while doing makeup to this face we need to contour plus highlight, will do contour for chin, jaw line, under the cheeks to give the face more definition. And we need to highlight opposite area of contouring.

4. DIAMOND FACE SHAPE- We can identify by seeing wide cheekbones& narrow fore head, with a pointy chin and thin face, mostly celebrities like Madonna & Jennifer Lopez have Diamond face shape. While correcting the face we have to do shading edges of the face and do highlight with a lighter color to draw attention to the center of the face.

5. PEAR SHAPE FACE – With a narrow forehead and a broader jaw line and chin we can identify pear shape face ,this face have a pear like shape, while correcting this face we need to focus on highlighting the forehead and minimizing the jaw line by doing contouring with a darker shade.

6. OBLONG FACE SHAPE – A little longer than wide, this face shape will have straight cheek line and a sharp cheekbone with big fore head, very important while correcting this face we need to reduce the length of this face, with a darker shade of foundation contour the top forehead and the chin, with a bright blush draw the attention away from that extra length of the face.

7. HEART SHAPE- forehead is the widest part of the face and chin is pointy.  To reduce the wide forehead we need to contour the sides of the fore head and to the tip of the chin to make it look less pointy, with a lighter color base highlight the upper cheekbone and the center of the face.

Beauty Essentials You Should Never Leave Home Without!

Let's be clear and straight that we all had a moment where we were out and really wished to have some of our quick beauty products to be with us. No matter what, females should always have a kit of few beauty essentials needed as refreshment to their makeup to feel fresh and clean. Personally being a makeup artist or a modern woman it’s hard to grab everything you need when you’re in a rush, so always carry some of the beauty pick-ups which are used no matter what situation you are in.
That is why we had created a list of items you should have in your purse on a daily basis:

1.     Lip Balm/ Lip gloss

Ever felt the cracking of your lips and wished to have a lip balm/gloss in your purse?  Especially during those dry winter seasons we all face dryness and dehydration in our lips, so always carry a lip balm/lip gloss before leaving home to hydrate and moisturize your pout regularly for smooth, supple and dewy lips.
2.    Wet Wipes and sanitizers

You should always have wet wipes and sanitizers in your daily kit to wipe off extra dirt, impurities and excess oil on your face. Sanitizers are always used for hygienic purposes and should always be in your kit for daily sanitary purposes.
3.    Tweezers

Personally being a makeup artist, I found tweezers to be included in your daily beauty essentials kit as you always can’t see all the little hairs on your eyebrows. For an unplanned meeting or an event , if you wish to have bombshell eyebrows, decide on tweezers with an ideal tip and avoid items with level edges on top as it can shear off your eyebrow hairs.

4.    Face Powder

Almost 90% women carry face powder in their daily kit as face powders are used for removing sweat and oil and give an instant bright and fresh look with a bit of coverage to hide blemishes and flaws on your face on a go.
5.    Concealer

Always carry a concealer in your kit as it hides unwanted scars and blemishes of your face at any moment of time. No matter how long lasting your makeup products are, there is always a need to do a few retouches during the day.
6.    Lipstick

If we are running late and need an effortless appearance in a go you are a step away to achieve a brightening look. Simply a single lipstick changes our whole look in any instant and we always need to retouches out lipstick either we are working in an office or we are out for a vacation.
7.    Purse Perfume

Some of the products are non-negotiable when it comes to the point of essential products in our daily routine. Everyone has certain priorities in choosing products but when it comes to the point of perfumes we all love to smell good and fresh at any point of time. All you need is to always carry a pocket perfume and you’ll surely smell as good as you look
8.    Hand Cream

No one can tell who you’ll meet during the day and with whom you’ll be shaking hands. You should always be prepared for any face to face with soft and delicate hands at any moment of time. No one expects a warm welcome with dry and scratchy hands, hence always moisturize your hands for a soft and smooth appearance.
9.    Pocket Comb

Always carry a pocket comb in your purse ladies to instantly tangle your hairs at any moment of time to feel revived during a hard day of work. A pocket brush is an incredible expansion to your compact excellence case and can invigorate your look in only a couple of swipes. It always retains its natural freshness for a long time.

10. Eyelash Mascara and kajal

Ladies love to wear mascara and kajal on their daily routine either she is a college student or a working woman. These are the important pieces of our cosmetics and enhance the whole look in a single swipe. We always feel fresh and energetic after wearing kajal as it gives a quite steady look to a woman irrespective of the occasion.

11. Blush

Whenever you feel pale or dull in your complexion, popping on a bronzer on the hollow of your cheeks or blush on the apple of the cheeks gives a more radiant and natural looking glow helping you to go from a dull to fabulous glow in a minute..

ACNE

’An Orange A Day Might help to keep the Acne at BAY”

Who the hell is Acne?

It’s a bacterial infection & not a CORONA VIRUS. Which will force us to be Home quarantined and also, we have various home remedies topical ointment & some nutrients which can help us to reduce the production of Acne.

Acne is caused due to the increased sebum (oil) which is produced by Our Sebaceous Gland (oil Gland), This sebum production is under the influence of the male sex hormone called Androgen.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ACNE
At first you may think I’m MAD but yes, the reason of getting acne is testosterone the hormone that stimulates the sebaceous gland (sebum producing gland) activity.

Ok, let me tell you the connection between Testosterone and Acne
Testosterone belongs to a class of male sex hormones called androgens, which can trigger acne by over- stimulating oil glands. They can also change the skin cells that line hair follicles, making them sticky and more likely to clog pores.

Here’s how it works: Tiny glands are inside the pores of your skin, and they produce an oil called “sebum.”  Sebum carries dead skin cells from follicles to your skin’s surface, but when there is too much of it, follicles become clogged and pimples can emerge.

Testosterone increases the production of sebum, making it a prime acne culprit.
Though testosterone is thought of as a male hormone, female ovaries produce it in small amounts. Women produce other androgens that can worsen acne as well.  Most women with acne still have normal levels of testosterone. However, if you have other signs of abnormally high testosterone, such as excess facial or body hair, deep voice, and irregular menstrual period, you may want to talk about hormone testing with your doctor.

Oral contraceptives (birth control pills) are the most
Common form that causes acne.
TREATING HORMONAL ACNE-
If your Doctor believes that high testosterone levels or other hormonal issues are to blame for Acne, they may recommend a variety of treatments, in addition to  topical remedies such as retinoids, that may prescribe  hormonal therapies.

HOME REMEDIES-
1-A pack of mint & curd can help to reduce Acne.  2-Application of Tomato juice can reduce Acne.

TOPICAL OINMENTS-
Application of Clindac A, Benzac or Panoxyl can dry the Acne
(But should be used only if the Doctor Prescribes)
FOOD-
Rich in Vitamin A, C & E. (All three are powerful Antioxidants) can help to eliminate milder cases of Acne. E.g.-Orange and yellow fruits and vegetables.
